Speech control in virtual environments has been neglected for a long time. Since the quality of speech recognition engines has improved recently, speech control has become more and more interesting in the field of VR. The VRGeo Demonstrator offers speech control combined with pick-ray interaction. Thus, the user can interact in a very natural way with the application by pointing at objects and manipulate them. In addition to that the user can also switch to different modes, which is comparable to short cuts commonly used on desktop applications.
